Created initially with the intention to display, highlight and explain the future investments in culture in the Kingdom of Bahrain, this exhibition expands its scope to include the past and current investments in culture by both the private and the public sector, as well as other related and important cultural assets that equally contribute to the definition of Bahrain Cultural Identity. For, the aim of this exhibition is doubled: to promote culture in Bahrain among national and international audience and to invite investors to Invest in Culture by joining effort in realising visionary architectural projects.
The display will occupy the main hall of the National Museum, where a very large satellite image of Bahrain will be laid over the floor, acting as a backdrop of a multimedia exhibition compromising three dimensional models, large printed boards, leaflets, and image/video projections. As there are many sites for the investment , there are various pixels around, various models, and visitors are invited to walk between these models, over the floor graphic, as if exploring Bahrain cultural map from a plane. It is a kind of guide book where, instead of reading pages, one is invited to be part of the book itself, by walking "over the pages: a 3 dimensional guide book.
Leaders, experts, intellectuals, citizens, students, tourists, children, this exhibition is conceived in a way to address all members of society: to facilitate their access to these information, to increase their curiosity and most importantly to create an awareness of the rich investment in culture taking place on the island.
The Investing in Culture initiative is a concept created by H.H. Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Culture and Information, during the period when H.H had hold the role of Undersecretary of Culture and Heritage at the Ministry.
